Solving Currency Hedging in Developing Countries: Nivo Joins Base Batches

At Nivo, our mission is to eliminate the "volatility tax" that harms businesses in emerging markets. SMEs, exporters, and NGOs often face currency exchange as a gamble, operating locally but managing costs or revenues in USD. Because traditional banks impose high minimums and hidden fees for hedging, these organizations become accidental speculators. A sudden currency swing can destroy profits or compress margins. We are building the on-chain infrastructure to provide simple and accessible hedging tools for the businesses ignored by the legacy system.

Today, we are taking a massive step forward in that journey. We are proud to announce that Nivo has been selected for Base Batches 003, the premier accelerator program powered by Base and Coinbase. Being selected for this cohort is a significant moment for us, as Nivo was one of only 12 startups chosen from more than 1,770 global applications. This validation reinforces our belief that the problem we are solving is one worth building fo. Base is not just a network. It is an ecosystem backed by the resources of a global leader like Coinbase, and this selection proves that the industry is ready for on-chain products to solve real world problems.

Over the coming weeks, our team will be working closely with the engineers and product leaders behind the Base ecosystem. We are diving deep into product design roasts to ensure our tools are as intuitive as they are powerful, and we are leveraging the Coinbase business and developer platforms to scale our reach. This program gives us direct access to the mentorship and technical resources needed to move at the speed the real economy demands.

This program is designed for rapid growth. We will spend the next few months battle-testing our infrastructure and refining our protocol, culminating in a Demo Day in San Francisco on May 19th. There, we will present Nivo to a global room of investors and VCs who share our vision of upgrading the current financial system.
